Employee Spotlight Series: Q+A with Briggs Parsell

Meet Briggs Parsell, a Sales Development Representative (SDR) who joined the company in September 2024 and continues to make his mark. With the career tagline of 'Less guesswork, more growth,' Briggs brings a thoughtful, research-driven approach to every prospect conversation. He is always looking for the most meaningful way to connect solutions to real business challenges. When he is not digging into advertiser strategy or building relationships across the team, you might find him planning a  golf trip, hunting down a salted caramel cheesecake, or staying up well past midnight. Inside The Office

What does a typical day in your role really look like?

A typical day is a mix of outreach, internal collaboration, research, and prospecting. No two days are the same, which keeps it interesting. A major part of my role is understanding what matters most to prospects and figuring out how to connect relevant solutions to real business challenges.

What’s the part of your job you love most (that might surprise people)?

Two things: I would say the problem-solving aspect. I really enjoy digging into an advertiser or agency, understanding what they’re navigating, and finding a thoughtful way to make conversations relevant and valuable. Two, the relationships I've formed and the connections I’ve made have really been game-changers for me as part of Cognitiv.

If your career had a tagline, what would it be?

Less guesswork, more growth.

What advice would you give someone joining #TeamCognitiv?

Learn the culture, then learn how to contribute to it. Everyone at Cognitiv shares the same goals of growth and expansion, and a willingness to help in any way they can. Understanding these values early on will make you feel you are in the right place!

Outside The Office

If you could have any superpower for a day, what would it be?

Teleportation, easy. The thought of being able to skip lines at the airport, eliminate any commute, and travel across the country/world in seconds sounds like the best power to have!

What’s your go-to comfort food or guilty pleasure snack?

Up until recently, I was always an anything-sour-candy kind of person. You name it, I love it. But, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve found actual desserts that I constantly crave. A local restaurant to me has a salted caramel cheesecake that I want to have every week, and if there’s a chocolate lava cake on the menu, I’ll be ordering that as well.

If you could take a year off to do anything, what would you do?

I would jump in my Hyundai Elantra, grab my golf clubs, and play the top 100 golf courses in the U.S. There are many parts of the country I haven’t been to yet, so I would be able to see a lot of the different landscapes and courses it has to offer.

What’s a favorite memory that always makes you smile?

Every July 4th, my entire family meets in Western New York, Lake Chautauqua, and I’ve been going there every year since I was born. Between the fireworks, tubing, and seeing family that I only see once a year always puts a smile on my face.

Rapid-Fire Fun

  • Sweet or savory? Sweet, I’ve always been a huge candy person.
  • Early bird or night owl? Night owl, going to sleep before midnight is rare for me.
  • Favorite childhood TV show or movie? Ben 10. I grew up wanting to have a real-life Omnitrix.
  • Last song you listened to? Temptations by Joey Bada$$
  • Beach, mountains, or city for a vacation? Beach

Team Shoutouts

“Briggs is a pillar of the SDR team with daily contributions of wins, encouragement, and fresh ideas. He understands Cognitiv’s value and confidently represents it in every external communication. He leads by example, recognizing how to show up for others to create exciting opportunities. Not to mention that he’s great to crack a joke with, and always gives me two pieces of gum when I ask for one.” — Kaitlyn McCann, SDR
